These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RenewTrail ("we", "our", or "the App") on Android and iOS. By downloading, accessing, or using RenewTrail, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

About RenewTrail

RenewTrail is a personal organiser that helps you keep track of things that renew or expire (such as passports, licences, insurance, warranties and subscriptions), their dates, costs and history, the documents you attach, and reminders before they expire. Your information is stored on your device.

Not professional advice: RenewTrail is a convenience tool. It does not provide legal, financial or tax advice, and it is not an official record of any document, licence or contract.

Eligibility

You must comply with all applicable laws and store policies when using the App. RenewTrail is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13/16.

License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use RenewTrail for personal and lawful purposes, subject to these Terms.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the dates, amounts and other details you enter, and for renewing anything on time. Always check the official date with the issuer.
You are responsible for the documents you attach and for having the right to store them.
You agree not to use the App for illegal, harmful, or abusive activities.
You agree not to reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to disrupt the App or its services.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for keeping backups of your data (see "Your Data and Backups").

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications created by the App on your device. They depend on your device allowing notifications, battery and background settings, the device clock and time zone, and the operating system, and they may arrive late or not at all. Do not rely on reminders alone for anything important. We are not responsible for a missed or late reminder, or for any renewal, fee or consequence that follows from it.

Your Data and Backups

Your items and documents are stored only on your device. We do not have a copy and cannot recover them. If you uninstall the App, reset or lose your device, or use Delete all data, your data is removed permanently unless you have exported a backup. You can export a JSON backup, CSV or PDF report from the App and restore a backup later. Backups contain your items, renewals and reminders but not the documents you attached, so keep your original files too. You are responsible for keeping your backups safe. RenewTrail Pro also offers an optional cloud backup (see "Cloud Backup" below).

Permissions & Device Features

To provide functionality, RenewTrail may request access to certain device features:

Notifications: to send reminders.
Camera, photos and files: only when you attach a document.
Biometrics / device lock: only if you turn on App lock.
Internet: for ads, anonymous analytics and crash reports, store purchases and cloud backup.

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if you deny permissions.

RenewTrail Pro

RenewTrail is free to use and shows ads. RenewTrail Pro is an optional one-time purchase (not a subscription) that removes ads and unlocks quick add from templates and shared text, and cloud backup to Google Drive. All other features are free. "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer RenewTrail and Pro. Payment is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms; refunds and billing questions are handled by the store. You can restore a previous purchase with Restore Purchase using the same store account.

Cloud Backup

Cloud backup is an optional RenewTrail Pro feature. To use it you sign in with your own Google account and allow RenewTrail to keep a backup file in the hidden app-data folder of your Google Drive. The backup contains your items, renewals and reminder settings, not attached documents. It is stored in your Google account, not with us, and is subject to Google's terms and to your available Drive storage. You are responsible for your Google account and for keeping it secure. We cannot access, recover or restore a backup for you. Backups can fail or be unavailable (for example if you lose access to your Google account, run out of storage, or Google changes or withdraws the service), so do not rely on cloud backup alone: also export a backup file from time to time. You can stop at any time by signing out and revoking access in your Google Account. Restoring a backup adds items to the device and may add items you had deleted since. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Third-Party Services

RenewTrail may use third-party services to support the App:

Google AdMob: shows advertisements in the free version (non-personalized ads).
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: help us understand anonymous usage patterns and fix crashes.
Google Sign-In and Google Drive: used only if you turn on cloud backup.
Google Play / Apple App Store: handle purchases.

These third parties may process limited data as described in our Privacy Policy and their own policies.

The free version displays ads to support development and maintenance. Ads are provided by third parties. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or appropriateness of ad content, and we are not responsible for products or services advertised.

Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle information related to the App. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding data handling, the Privacy Policy will apply.

Intellectual Property

The App, its design, and its content (other than your own data) are owned by Vertex Studio or its licensors and are protected by law. You keep all rights to the information and documents you store in the App.

Disclaimer of Warranties

RenewTrail is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure, or that dates, reminders or calculations will be accurate or timely.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vertex Studio and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, or any missed renewal, expired document, late fee or penalty, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vertex Studio from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of laws principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
