These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ScanX ("we", "our", or "the App") on Android and iOS. By downloading, accessing, or using ScanX, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

About ScanX

ScanX is a utility app that helps you scan and manage QR codes and related content (such as text, links, WiFi credentials from QR codes, and images you choose to save/export).

Eligibility

You must comply with all applicable laws and store policies when using the App. ScanX is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13/16.

License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ScanX for personal and lawful purposes, subject to these Terms.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use QR scanning results and any content you save or share.
You agree not to use the App for illegal, harmful, or abusive activities.
You agree not to reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to disrupt the App or its services.
You are responsible for verifying the safety of scanned QR code content (for example, URLs). Scanning a QR code may lead to external actions (e.g., opening a website or connecting to WiFi).

Safety Note: QR codes can be used to direct users to harmful websites or actions. Always verify the destination and do not proceed if you are unsure.

Permissions & Device Features

To provide functionality, ScanX may request access to certain device features:

Camera: To scan QR codes.
Files & Documents / Storage: To save or export scanned data or images.
WiFi: To connect to WiFi networks via QR codes (Android may require location permission for WiFi scanning/connection behaviors).
Device Information & Diagnostics: For performance monitoring and crash reporting.

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if you deny permissions.

Third-Party Services

ScanX may use third-party services to support the App:

AdMob: Shows advertisements within the App (non-personalized ads).
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Helps us understand anonymous usage patterns and fix crashes.

These third parties may process limited data as described in our Privacy Policy and their own policies.

The App displays ads to support development and maintenance. Ads may be served by third-party providers. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or appropriateness of ad content.

Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle information related to the App. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding data handling, the Privacy Policy will apply.

Content & External Links

ScanX may allow you to open URLs or actions embedded in QR codes. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, or actions you access through scanned QR codes.

Disclaimer of Warranties

ScanX is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vertex Studio and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vertex Studio from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of laws principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
